Two more acceptances, this time in my first international salon on home turf at Smethwick near Birmingham. "Vertical" & "6.40 to Brighton" this time around.
What surprised me about this and the other UK exhibitions are those images that are really heavily photoshopped to the point where, to my eye at least, they aren't really photos any more. Though undoubtedly creative, and I'm sure a lot of skill is needed in their construction, personally I don't yet understand the appeal/attraction. Considering the photographer has all the time they need to perfect the image, rather than traditional photography capturing a single moment in time, I'm surprised so many of them are obvious composites.
Anyway, maybe I'll give it a go myself and see how I can get on next year!
